Compromised too Much! 2010-03-09 |
| By Bradley Olin (Santa Cruz, CA United States) |
I got this tiny microwave for a grad student friend of mine, who lives in a very small and cramped space. I figured this microwave would be perfect for her. After using it for a month she had the following feedback to offer;
Cons:
- extremely short cord for a unit designed for desk top or office use. Depending on the setup in your office it may not be long enough to reach your outlet or power strip.
- not intuitive to use. In fact she couldn't get it to work for more than 3 seconds, and didn't "wave" that is, make things hot (or warm ... or tepid)
- the front door was scratched upon receiving it, poor shipping/packaging on amazon's part.
- a large starbucks coffee would not fit ... something that I would think essential for a product designed for today's office culture.
- because the readout screen is on the top of the machine it is extremely hard to read if there is any direct overhead or natural light.
Pros:
It jives conceptually with other iAppliances. iPod, iPhone, iMac, iLife. |
Amazon sent me a used one 2010-03-03 |
| By Shahzad Hasan (California) |
The unit was not in its original box, blemishes all over it and even the stickers peeled off.
I don't understand how Amazon can send a used item when I bought it as NEW.
The item I bought was NOT from the "Warehouse Deals".
Really disappointed with Amazon on this, I did end up returning it. |
Size matters- Function suffers 2010-02-11 |
| By Peggy Gordon (Hermosa Beach, ca, US) |
I read the reviews which says this is a mini microwave with less cooking power than a larger unit.
I knew this, but somehow, i wanted to believe that it was perfect. It is very small, very easy to use.
It heats food up almost perfect-just takes a few extra minutes. But dont be fooled. it does not cook popcorn.
well, it does, but it always gets burned.
Would i buy it again. Yes. |
What you would expect from the Shirley Temple of microwaves 2010-02-08 |
| By Amazin Kindle 2 (New York, NY) |
| This microwave is adorable, and fits very well in a small space. And it will do the job. Just keep in mind the one con: it takes about twice as long a a "regular" microwave to do the job. |
iWaveCube Microwave Oven 2010-02-06 |
| By A. Horvath (east Coast, USA) |
| At maximum power level of 600 watts, the iWaveCube is nothing to brag about in terms of performance. Nevertheless the product is well constructed, works quietly and well. I purchased the iWaveCube primarily for its compact size - it takes less than a square foot of counter top space. If size and portability is a strong requirement then this product is highly recommended. As the product's description states, it is meant for desk/counter top use, not from higher shelf space - the controls and display are on top making them inaccessable from an elevated position. There are stronger microwaves on the market for cheaper price but not this small. It is sufficiently powerful to (re-)heat cups, bowls and small plates of food. The absence of a turntable does not deter from its usefulness. |
