When I bought the product, there was no reference in the description to the capacity of the shaker. It's not that I like to make up huge quantities of libations, but sommetimes I like to make up four drinks so that Round 2 is all whipped up and idling at the curb for moments of extreme thirst. This shaker holds about two-and-a-half good sized drinks, which is a little small. This is a real nit-pick, though.
The shaker is well-made, of double-walled stainless steel. The top showed none of the problems noted in other reviews. It worked out of the box and continues to work, although I haven't put it to the hot summer stay-cation acid test yet. Maybe this year.
The strainer works well. If it gets clogged, a little sideways shake moved things along. What I really like, though, is that the double walls yield a really well insulated shaker. The ice you use doesn't melt quickly, so any left over drink remains undiluted.
This has me thirsty now. Maybe a refreshing lemon drop is in order (apologies to Beverly Leslie).

I read about this product in an in flight magazine and was totally intrigued. When I looked it up, the price was a bit of a shock...but once I thought about how many crappy cocktail shakers I'd purchased, broken, and thrown away...it didn't seem so bad.
Since I got this shaker, I've used it regularly and am thrilled with it! It doesn't leak! It doesn't shoot apart in pieces when you shake it! It isn't impossible to get the lid off after you've shaken a cold beverage! It really works like it says it does! I love it! My favorite feature is that it doesn't drip all over the place and make a mess like typical cocktail shakers...and it is VERY well made and sturdy.
The only downside I've noticed is that when you make a drink with lime or any kind of small particles in it, the bits get stuck in the strainer in the top. It can get absolutely polluted with lime bits and they aren't easy to get out...it takes a little effort, but does clean up.
I highly recommend this product to anyone who reguarly mixes up cocktails and doesn't like the mess that traditional cocktail shakers create. I also recommend it as a gift for a drinker who has everything...its unique enough that it will be a special treat for the cocktailer who has everything. |

Our household has gone through too many martini shakers! They all leaked and it was hard to remove their tops. NOT the Metrokane Flip Top Cocktail Shaker! There's no leakage and the top is easily removeable.

| It is convenient not to have to remove a cap or use a strainer. It isn't an earth shattering improvement over other variations but its value lies in the efficiency that it provides if mixing drinks "all night" where it would definitely save time over the older types. Or so my brother advised, as it was a gift to him. |
