Heavy Cast Aluminum Pressure Cooker/Canner
This heavy-duty pressure cooker's large capacity is probably excellent utilized for canning (though it would in addition be excellent for a number of cooking tasks). A pressure cooker is generally recommended when canning vegetables and nonacid fruit, since the high heat this can be generated will kill extra bacteria than a regular hot water bath. Made from cast aluminum, together with sturdy screws to seal the lid to the pot, this pressure cooker requires no rubber or plastic gaskets or rings. Its 21-1/2-quart capacity holds 19 pint jars or 7 quart jars. A three-environment pressure regulator valve is integrated, and the pressure gauge provides a clear reading. I have used this pressure cooker maybe 15 times. I took it in and had the gauge tested, thats fine I bought a replacement. I tried to unscrew the gauge and I could barely get it out. I was perplexed why would it be this hard to get out....because it was stripping threads all the way out! Since I am the original owner and I had never replaced the gauge I can only surmise that it was cross threaded at the factory! What poor craftmanship, so much for American made!

Use this beast primarily to sanitize equipment for using with yeast for home brewing. Performs flawlessly and I cannot say enough about what a solid piece of equipment this is.

This is a great pressure cooker. All of the forums that I was browsing said All American pressure cookers are the best and I would have to agree. Amazon.com had it for the cheapest price and the delivery time was very quick. I have had no problems and look forward to many years of use.

Wow! What a Canner! I was interested in a canner/cooker that would safely can meat. It was very easy to understand the instructions. I was using it the evening I got it and I've never canned before. It is really a solid pot and the gauge was easy to read. It's a heavy pot but obviously needs to be, for the pressure it handles. Very easy to use. Happy Canning!
